long term leases

Long term reservations.
Situation is
Person living in Belden for 1 year, extends for a short term at a new rate. Decides to stay for a year after extending. Leasing agent writes new lease for 1 year and tries to change the departure date on the extension and make a new reservation for one year as of 1st of month.
Changes date to end of current month.
Only way to save is to click update rent button.
This causes all past months in the lease to repost. The same thing occurs when extending an existing reservation.
To zero out the months the leasing agent needs to 0 each month and save each line.

Why can’t there be a simple button “save date change and do not update rent”:.

We have not been able to come up with a good reason why you want to update rent for all past months.
